About loose gemstones
Pakistan's northern valleys produce peridot, aquamarine, topaz, tourmaline and emerald, and most of it is cut locally in Peshawar rather than exported as rough.
Every stone here lists its species, cut, clarity, measured dimensions, carat weight and treatment. Treatment is stated on every stone including the untreated ones, where the value is the word 'None' — a blank field is a bug, not a claim. Heat treatment is normal and stable and does not make a stone lesser; an undisclosed fracture fill does.
Carat weight is measured, not estimated, and the millimetre dimensions are given because two stones of equal weight can face up very differently depending on cut depth.
